Open one of the windows into American war history and explore the little known story of the Border Bunkers base end stations in San Diego, California.  Learn the history of how these coastal defense systems worked.  This installation is located on an international border between the United States and Mexico.  These and other installations were begun at the beginning of World War Two after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

These base end stations were combined with other coastal installations at Point Loma in San Diego, the modern home of the United States Navy's Pacific Fleet.  The United States Army was in charge of these military structures before turning it over the United States Navy in 1959.
